Color Contrast Checker

Calculate contrast between opaque text and background colors.

How to use Color Contrast Checker

  1. Choose opaque text and background colors.
  2. Enter the text size and select bold if applicable.
  3. Check the ratio and AA and AAA results.

What this tool does

Only opaque six-digit sRGB colors are supported. Threshold decisions use the unrounded ratio. Large text means at least 24 CSS pixels, or approximately 18.67 pixels when bold. Passing does not certify an entire page.

Example

Black #000000 on white #ffffff has a 21:1 contrast ratio.
